The Harrisonburg-Rockingham region of the Valley Program for Aging Services had the opportunity to meet MillerCoors employees at their annual United Way Employee Fair on October 28 and 30.
Price Rotary Local Council met on Monday, Oct. 20th at 11:00. Among the topics discussed, fundraising ideas were the prevalent topic. Corporate sponsors, ideas for events and specific organizations to approach were spoken about, as well as fundraising ideas in conjunction with Harrisonburg Parks and Rec.
On Wednesday October 15th, ERSC had planned to take a trip to see the fall foliage on the Skyline Drive. Due to the abundance of rain that morning and high winds, the trip was cancelled. When one door closes another opens.
Meals on Wheels volunteers for PRSC, Frank and Betty Lambert, were the proud winners of the $15.00 Wal-Mart gift card which is awarded each month through a drawing by Volunteer Coordinator Dawn Shull as part of their Volunteer Program.The Lamberts have been volunteering for over 10 years with our program and thought they should not been given a prize. That is dedication.
Handmade quilts were donated to Volunteer Coordinator Dawn Shull on Wednesday September 24th as part of a project one of her Meals on Wheels volunteer approached her with several months ago.
East Rockingham Senior Center members welcomed Brandy Wade as the new Center Director on Monday September 15.
