Bath Senior Center: July Report

It is July in the mountains, and we have power once again at the Bath Senior Center!

We are off to Marlinton, W.Va. on Thursday the 5th to enjoy the 45th annual Pioneer Days and the Pedlar’s Market; we’ll eat lunch on the Greenbriar River at the Grill. On Monday the 9th we’ll begin decorating hats for our tea party. July 11th will be a shopping day to Walmart and out to lunch; the shopping is a grant-funded trip, and anyone over 60 in Bath may join us.

On Monday, July 16th, we will not be open until 11 a.m. to stay later and enjoy a tea at the Homestead from 3-4 p.m. We also have a bowling trip to Franklin, W.Va., on Wednesday the 25th. Both of these trips are funded by Bath Parks and Recreation, and are also open to anyone over 60 in Bath – you do not need to be a Senior Center member. Please call to join us.

Thursday the 19th is genealogy with Connie Metheny and ice cream sundaes. Monday the 23rd is a 10 a.m. blood pressure screening. Monday the 30th will be a picnic at Vepco Lake. We now have a vegetable garden at the Senior Center and are awaiting the fruits of our labor while weeding when it is cool.

Stay cool, and don’t forget to be thankful for electric power each day.
